Valentine’s Day has traditionally consisted me making Ranger a themed mix CD complete with quirky, cheesy cover art and him cooking an elaborate meal and making truffles. (God Bless Ranger and his culinary skills) But this year we decided to shake it up a bit:
Because honestly nothing says “I love you and want to spend the rest of my life with you” quite like Kurt Russell in that glorious example of haute couture. Ranger made dinner and together we made homemade peanut butter cups: something I’ve tried unsuccessfully to do since I was a child. They turned out heavenly.
And something that Red Boots posted yesterday set the waterworks flowing:
“Love isn’t an act, it’s a whole life. It’s staying with her now because she needs you; it’s knowing you and she will still care about each other when sex and daydreams, fights and futures — when all that’s on the shelf and done with. Love — why, I’ll tell you what love is: it’s you at seventy-five and her at seventy-one, each of you listening for the other’s step in the next room, each afraid that a sudden silence, a sudden cry, could mean a lifetime’s talk is over.”
Brian Moore – The Luck of Ginger Coffey
And here’s a nice little slideshow of the other little bits of loveliness:

Ranger and I had a busy weekend of painting but took time out last night and again tonight to treat ourselves. Here’s hoping you do the same.
Cheers and chocolate covered strawberries to everyone! XOXO Lori
